Science ministry and NIS unveil software supply chain security roadmap

South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT and the National Intelligence Service on June 24 unveiled a software supply chain security roadmap to prepare for an era of widespread AI use. The roadmap will be presented at a two-day supply chain security workshop in Seoul and will also be available on the Korea Internet & Security Agency website. It outlines three strategies: strengthening incident prevention, building threat detection and response systems, and establishing a policy foundation.

National AI Strategy Committee holds seminar on vulnerability reporting and remediation system

South Korea\'s National Artificial Intelligence Strategy Committee said on June 18 it held a seminar to flesh out plans to institutionalise an always-on system for reporting and remediating security vulnerabilities. The committee is pushing a domestic rollout in cooperation with white-hat hackers after a series of major security incidents last year. A pilot project led by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the National Intelligence Service runs through year-end with 15 participants.

KISA steps up support for public sector N2SF adoption

The Korea Internet & Security Agency said on Tuesday it has selected six consortia made up of national and public agencies and security companies to push ahead with a 2026 project to support adoption of the National Network Security Framework, or N2SF. Under N2SF, information is classified into three levels and security is applied accordingly. KISA said it will also run a verification project in July to further assess field applicability and security.
