NCSoft to shift TL global service to in-house operations by year-end

NCSoft said on Aug. 13 it will switch the global service for its MMORPG Throne and Liberty (TL) to an in-house service system by the end of this year. The company plans to directly operate the game’s global service, after cooperating with Amazon Game Studios. Once the transition is completed, users on platforms including Purple, Steam, PlayStation and Xbox will be able to play in a unified global environment. Existing user data and assets will be maintained.

NCSoft expands across legacy, new titles and mobile casual, steps up global push next year

NCSoft said it will expand growth engines around long-running legacy IP, global launches of new titles and a mobile casual business. The company plans to roll out about 10 games from the second half of this year through next year and broaden its mobile casual business into a platform linking in-house studios and external developers. It reported a sharp rise in second-quarter revenue and operating profit, helped by Lineage Classic and consolidation of JustPlay.

NCSoft, Shengqu Games target China MMORPG market with Aion 2

NCSoft said on July 31 it has signed a China publishing agreement with Shengqu Games for its new massively multiplayer online role-playing game Aion 2 and will step up efforts to target the local market. Shengqu Games will handle overall services in China. The companies held a strategic cooperation ceremony in Shanghai on July 30. Shengqu Games set the local title as “Eternal Tower 2” and plans promotions at ChinaJoy.
