NCSoft's massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) Aion2 surpassed 400,000 peak concurrent users on the first day of its global service launch.

NCSoft said on Oct. 6 it officially released Aion2 to global markets on Oct. 5 local time via Steam and Purple.

Aion2 operates servers in four regions, including North America, South America, Europe and Japan. It supports eight languages, including English, Japanese, French, German and Spanish. It is offered as a PC-only title.

Ahead of the official launch, it ran early access for founders pack buyers for five days starting on Sept. 30. During that period, Aion2 held the No. 1 spot by revenue on Steam's global top sellers chart. It also ranked No. 1 in 15 countries.

After the official launch, it also remained near the top of Steam charts. As of Oct. 6, it ranked No. 1 on the global charts for "popular new releases" and "trending free."

To mark the global launch, NCSoft also released a behind-the-scenes documentary video that includes the developers' goals and the production process. The video is available on Aion2's global YouTube channel.
