Ex-White House communications director says 60 Senate votes virtually impossible, CLARITY Act momentum fades
Anthony Scaramucci, a former White House communications director and founder of SkyBridge, said the U.S. cryptocurrency regulation bill known as the CLARITY Act is unlikely to make progress in the Senate. He said President Donald Trump’s political choices have weakened bipartisan momentum. Scaramucci cited Trump’s meme coin launch, pressure over Greenland and U.S. military operations involving Iran. He also said securing 60 votes to overcome a filibuster is nearly impossible.

Trump cites NATO Greenland framework, rules out force and drops tariffs
U.S. President Donald Trump said a meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte produced a framework for a future deal on Greenland and much of the Arctic. He said the outcome would benefit the United States and all NATO members and that he would not impose tariffs planned for Feb. 1. Trump said talks could be handled by Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and others, and cited further discussions on Golden Dome and mineral rights.
