Mobility platforms target festival, tourism demand to monetise movement data
With the May holiday period approaching, mobility platforms in South Korea are expanding into festivals and tourism to monetise accumulated movement data and user bases. Companies are linking data to local government event operations, shuttle services and foreign tourist group travel. TMAP Mobility is applying an AI festival-movement solution to a horticulture expo, while Kakao T Shuttle is adding event routes. Socar is running discounts in depopulating areas, and Whistle is expanding parking enforcement alerts.

Tesla really in crisis this time? Bike theft worries over
Tesla has faced speculation about a crisis after sales fell from early 2026, with January sales down 23 percent in Europe and 45 percent in China. Investor Ross Gerber called the Tesla brand a negative asset and urged selling its EV business to Rivian. Tmap Mobility expands content business, launches \'My Theme Course\'
Tmap Mobility has begun turning users\' travel experiences into content, launching a participatory event called \'My Theme Course,\' the company said on Wednesday. Users can create and share routes based on personal trips such as family travel or date courses, along with stories and photos. Selected routes will be introduced in the app as Tmap Theme Course content, a series recommending places by season and theme. The event runs through Feb. 27.
