DeepSeek invests in Unitree to co-develop AI models for humanoid robots

Chinese AI startup DeepSeek has invested 140.8 million yuan ($20.8 million) in robot maker Unitree and agreed to jointly develop AI models for humanoid robots, Reuters reported on Aug. 6. DeepSeek received 933,399 shares, or a 2.31 percent stake, from a strategic allotment ahead of Unitree’s Shanghai IPO, the report said. The tie-up focuses on building robot “brains” that can understand unfamiliar environments and reliably translate instructions into physical actions.

Mistral launches 3 billion-parameter safety model ShieldStral

Mistral AI has unveiled ShieldStral, a lightweight multimodal safety model that classifies AI model inputs and outputs. The open-weights model lets developers enter policies in natural language at runtime and returns a yes-or-no decision with a safety score. It can process text and images without additional retraining. The company said it was trained to distinguish similar criteria and reported benchmark scores averaging 84.9 percent for text and 83.8 percent for images.

Miso Information Technology upgrades ACTIC to support full lifecycle of no-code AI agent development and operations

Miso Information Technology said on Wednesday it has upgraded its enterprise AI agent platform ACTIC to integrate the full process from development to deployment, security, quality management and operations. The company said the upgrade implements a new concept of an enterprise AI operating system. ACTIC manages the lifecycle from planning to evaluation on a single platform and offers no-code visual workflows and templates. It also provides RAG-based knowledge management linked to ViiX AI OCR.
