French AI startup Mistral is accelerating its push into the South Korean market.

Mistral's hiring page dated Oct. 9 shows the company is recruiting full-time applied scientists and research engineers to work in Seoul.

They will be part of the solutions division.

The applied scientists and research engineers Mistral hires will work with clients on complex research tasks. They will develop advanced AI models that handle multiple types of data, including text, images and voice, and apply them across various fields.

They will also handle tasks including pre-training, post-training and deployment on clusters equipped with thousands of GPUs. They will build and refine training data and evaluate whether completed models perform as expected. The jobs also cover solving challenging cases using AI agents and retrieval-augmented generation, or RAG, and managing projects while communicating with client research teams.

Mistral recently unveiled a new open-weight AI model, "Mistral Large 4," with 1 trillion parameters. The company said Large 4 is particularly strong in cyber, manufacturing, finance and multimodal-related tasks.
