Bitcoin supply structure reshaped in 2026 as 290,000 BTC leaves retail hands
Bitcoin ownership is shifting in 2026 from short-term individual investors to long-term holders and institutions. Over the past 30 days, short-term holders reduced holdings by about 290,000 BTC, while long-term holders, exchange-traded funds and structured strategies absorbed more than 370,000 BTC. Coins dormant for more than 155 days rose sharply, and institutions also took in most newly mined supply. ETF inflows continued even during extreme fear readings, while exchange reserves fell.

Strategy takes 94% of listed firms\' bitcoin buying in March
Strategy, formerly MicroStrategy, bought 44,377 bitcoin in March, accounting for 94% of listed companies’ purchases, BeInCrypto reported. Listed firms bought more than 47,000 bitcoin in total, but net increases fell to about 25,000 as nine companies reduced holdings. Strategy funded purchases through $1.18 billion raised via STRC ATM and $396 million via MSTR ATM. Its holdings rose to 762,099 bitcoin, valued at about $52.36 billion at the reported price.

Bitcoin may have bottomed, Bernstein sees $150,000 by year-end
Bitcoin has likely ended its recent decline and could rise above $150,000 by year-end, The Crypto Basic reported, citing Bernstein. Bernstein analyst Gautam Chhugani said bitcoin is set to finish its correction and turn higher. Bernstein said the pullback was limited to a 52 percent drop and pointed to rising institutional demand and inflows into exchange-traded funds. Other analysts warned bitcoin could fall to $41,500 or $50,000.
