Global AI scholars say South Korea should join joint development, complementing domestic AI

Global AI experts including Yann LeCun said South Korea can pursue development of its own AI models while also joining international joint development, urging expanded cooperation. At a Seoul briefing, AI Alliance co-chair Anthony Annunziata introduced Project Tapestry, a joint effort to build a common AI foundation model by pooling computing and research capabilities while keeping control of original data. The experts said pretraining costs are high with diminishing returns and called for industry-focused AI use.

Bitcoin \'Uptober\' narrative wobbles; $77,000 support in focus

Bitcoin has extended weakness in October, sliding 4.1 percent over the past week as outflows from spot bitcoin exchange-traded funds increased downward pressure. The cryptocurrency briefly fell to $80,427 and is trading around $83,000 after failing to hold a push above $87,000. Analysts are watching $83,000 as a near-term pivot and key support levels at $77,000 and $72,000. Markets are also tracking inflation data and ETF fund flows.

Tesla drops \'Full Self-Driving\' name in Europe after regulator pushback

Tesla has changed the name of its FSD driver-assistance feature in Europe to “assisted driving,” after German regulators said the previous branding could be misleading. Tesla had sold the feature in Europe as “Full Self-Driving (Supervised)” and continues using the name in the United States, where owners can subscribe for $99 a month. German authorities said FSD supports parts of driving and drivers must stay attentive. U.S. safety regulators are also investigating FSD.
