Canada unveils national AI strategy, bets on public supercomputer and AI education
Canada has set out a new national strategy to steer artificial intelligence legislation and infrastructure investment over the next five years. Prime Minister Mark Carney announced the “AI for All” plan, aiming to build trust in AI, broaden adoption and expand AI-based infrastructure in Canada. The strategy includes stronger privacy and online safety rules, a national AI literacy initiative and a public AI supercomputer, with the government projecting up to 90,000 AI-related jobs and placements.
