Midjourney develops 60-second full-body ultrasound scanner, claims 100 times faster than MRI
Image-generation AI company Midjourney says it is entering the medical device market and developing a full-body scanner that visualises internal structures in 3D. The company says its ultrasound-based system uses about 500,000 miniature acoustic units and AI computing to process terabyte-per-second data and build millimetre-level maps. It aims for speeds up to 100 times faster than MRI. Midjourney plans prototypes, a San Francisco facility in 2027 and FDA approval efforts.

Ambient-pressure superconductivity record broken after 33 years
U.S. researchers raised the superconducting transition temperature at ambient pressure to 151K, about minus 122 degrees Celsius, breaking a 33-year record. The team at the University of Houston and the Texas Center for Superconductivity used mercury-based copper-oxide ceramic Hg1223 and a “pressure quench” method that preserves high-pressure properties after pressure is removed. The result remained stable for about two weeks and was reproduced in five samples.

Bitcoin $40,000 drop? On-chain analyst says it is statistically almost unprecedented
On-chain analyst James Check pushed back against market forecasts that bitcoin could fall to $40,000, calling the scenario statistically almost unprecedented. He said such a level would sit at the 0.4th percentile of the historical distribution for daily closes when measured with a mean reversion index that combines key on-chain indicators. Check compared $40,000 under current conditions to bitcoin trading below $2 in 2011, while noting probabilities are never zero.
