Quality and detail to lead global video AI, expand Korean content ecosystem
Kling AI is stepping up its push into South Korea as competition in video AI models intensifies. Global operations head Zeng Yushen (쩡위선) said the company has more than 100 million users worldwide, with 70 percent outside China, and that Korean usage is rising. He cited quality, 4K support and motion control as strengths, and said Kling will expand creator and enterprise partnerships, including through contests and API adoption.

2026 Cable TV Broadcast Awards held, 52 people honoured
The Korea Cable TV Broadcasting Association held the 2026 Cable TV Broadcast Awards on Tuesday at Hotel Naru MGallery in Seoul, presenting awards to a total of 52 people. Marking its 20th year, the event is the country’s only integrated awards ceremony for the paid TV industry, spanning system operators and programme providers. Eight programme provider works and nine regional channel works won awards.

Kim Jong-cheol visits four general programming channel production sites, considers easing asymmetric rules
Kim Jong-cheol (김종철), chairman of the Broadcasting Media and Communications Commission, visited program production sites at four general programming channels on Feb. 26 and exchanged views with staff. He heard concerns about competition with global OTT services and YouTube, production changes linked to AI adoption, and difficulties securing facilities, equipment and personnel. He promised active policy support to improve working conditions for non-regular workers. Executives also discussed easing asymmetric rules and revising re-approval conditions.
