About 40 security experts say regulating Anthropic models hits defenders more than attackers
Cybersecurity chiefs and researchers at U.S. tech companies urged the Trump administration to withdraw restrictions on Anthropic’s latest AI model, Axios reported. They said the measures would hurt defenders more than attackers and could weaken defense teams as AI-driven hacking threats rise. A group led by former Facebook security chief Alex Stamos said similar issues cited by Amazon researchers appear in other major models. Signatories topped 40.

Rise of zero trust, zero CVE security requires zero ops strategy
Seong Hee-kyung (성희경), a director at Red Hat Korea, said regulatory changes and advances in AI are reshaping security, making zero trust and zero CVE increasingly important. He said the government’s request to scrap installed security software for financial firms is shifting responsibility from consumer devices to bank servers. He urged policy-based automation through a “zero ops” approach and cited JPMorgan’s post-2014 shift to zero trust and automation as an example.

Nvidia AI CPU \'Vera\' posts first benchmark results, close to AMD EPYC
Nvidia\'s next-generation AI-focused CPU, Vera, delivered performance close to AMD\'s top-end EPYC lineup in public benchmarks, and led in some areas. Tests cited by online outlet Gigazine showed strong single-socket results and near dual-socket flagship EPYC performance in some code compilation tasks. The benchmarks were based on measurements by Linux-focused outlet Phoronix. Vera uses Nvidia-designed Olympus cores, supports FP8 and PCIe 6 and is aimed at data centres.
