[DigitalToday Jin-ho Lee] Stage Five will support the SYS AI Foundation to foster the next generation of global artificial intelligence (AI) talent.

The support was 추진됐다 following a decision by Stage Five’s ESG committee, which emphasised the need for practice-ready AI talent. Stage Five will carry out support activities for the SYS AI Foundation to train job-ready talent and help broaden the base of South Korea’s AI ecosystem.

The SYS AI Foundation is a nonprofit foundation established by Google engineers and systems software scholars from Seoul National University and KAIST to foster global AI talent. The foundation provides education in core AI technologies, including the Linux kernel, storage, memory management and AI infrastructure, along with a practice-focused curriculum. It also supports mentoring by engineers at major big tech companies in Silicon Valley and global networking programmes.

Stage Five will focus on advancing the foundation’s curriculum by bringing together its AI technology capabilities and service operations know-how. Stage Five CEO Sang-won Seo (서상원) will directly join the foundation’s board to reflect the latest AI trends from the field in its courses and to lead the training of practice-ready talent.

Min-won Ki (민원기), chair of Stage Five’s ESG committee, said it was meaningful to share the company’s accumulated capabilities in operating AI services with future talent. He added he hoped the support would become a foundation for building a substantive virtuous-cycle AI ecosystem.
