U.S. uncrewed surface vessel completes first autonomous crossing of Taiwan Strait, tracks Chinese warships
U.S. maritime uncrewed systems company Seasats said its Lightfish uncrewed surface vessel completed the first fully autonomous crossing of the Taiwan Strait. The craft was operated remotely from hundreds of miles away and covered more than 1,000 nautical miles over 5 days while continuously monitoring maritime traffic. Seasats said it encountered multiple Chinese naval vessels, tracked their positions and obtained photo evidence identifying their type and origin.
