Financial sector hacking spreads as police open investigation after 28 attack IPs identified

Signs of hacking targeting the financial sector have spread beyond banks and secondary financial firms to internet banks and the insurance and securities industries. South Korea\'s Financial Supervisory Service identified 33 IP addresses linked to hacking attempts, or 28 excluding duplicates, and asked financial firms to block them and conduct self-checks. Countries with more pet cats tend to be happier - study

A study found that countries with higher pet cat density tend to report higher levels of subjective happiness, based on an analysis of 93 countries. The researchers examined links between happiness, cat density and factors including GDP, income levels, healthcare spending and toxoplasma prevalence. Cat density showed a positive correlation with happiness, while IgM antibody prevalence showed a negative one. The authors said the findings show national-level correlations, not causation.

KT joins APEX 2026 international cyber exercise to boost real-world defense capabilities

KT said on Sept. 29 it joined the National Intelligence Service-led international cyber exercise APEX (Allied Power Exercise) 2026 to strengthen real-world cyber defense capabilities. The drill ran from Sept. 16 to 18 with participants from 23 countries across the Americas, Europe and the Indo-Pacific. KT’s red team carried out real-time incident response, digital forensics and system security tasks in a joint team.
