Meta to roll out 2-nm MTIA AI chip at scale with Broadcom
Meta Platforms is moving to deploy its next-generation custom AI accelerator, MTIA, built on a 2-nanometre process, in collaboration with Broadcom. It has committed an initial 1 gigawatt of capacity for its data centres, with plans to expand to multiple gigawatts. Broadcom CEO Hock Tan said the product is already shipping and capacity could rise after 2027. Meta aims to reduce dependence on Nvidia and AMD GPUs.
