KB Financial highlights Ukishima Maru history, includes voices of remembrance
KB Financial Group on Sunday released a video titled \"Maizuru Remembers the History of That Day,\" filmed in Maizuru, Kyoto Prefecture, on the anniversary of the Ukishima Maru sinking. The video, a follow-up to a June release, includes visits with professor Seo Kyung-duk (서경덕) to the accident waters, memorial facilities and a temple housing remains. It also features accounts from members of a local memorial group and notes unresolved issues such as fact-finding and repatriation of victims\' remains.

Mitsubishi enters humanoid race, targets output of 1,000 units a month by 2027
Mitsubishi is joining forces with Japanese robot startup Highlanders to mass-produce humanoid robots, aiming to secure capacity of 1,000 units a month by the end of 2027 and deploy them on its own factory production lines. The companies have signed an MOU to jointly develop robots and build a mass-production system, with Mitsubishi’s Kyoto plant serving as the production base. The project is driven by worsening labour shortages, the company said.

Japan payment processor Zentoushin bankruptcy sparks concern over payment gaps; some cite BTC, JPYC as alternatives
Concerns are rising in Japan over potential payment infrastructure gaps for some businesses after credit card payment processor Zentoushin went bankrupt. Businessman Takafumi Horie mentioned bitcoin and yen-linked stablecoin JPYC as possible alternatives in a YouTube video. Zentoushin was known for serving sectors often avoided by financial institutions and filed for bankruptcy with about 125.9 billion yen in liabilities. JPYC is also running payment trials, including vending machines in Kyoto.
