Kosdaq triggers sell sidecar for 17th time this year
A sell sidecar was triggered in the South Korean Kosdaq market on Wednesday as declines deepened following a fall in the main KOSPI market. The Korea Exchange said the mechanism was activated at 12:47 p.m. This was the 17th sidecar activation in the Kosdaq market this year, including 11 buy sidecars and 6 sell sidecars. Program trading sell orders were suspended for five minutes and then automatically lifted.

KB Asset Management launches KB Kosdaq leader stock fund
KB Asset Management said on Thursday it has launched the \"KB Kosdaq Leader Stock Fund\". The product focuses on the possibility of increased institutional inflows into Kosdaq as policy support strengthens for technology-driven growth industries such as AI, semiconductors, mobility and biotech. It will invest mainly in key large-cap stocks, combining a core strategy focused on industry leaders and a booster strategy targeting firms likely to enter the index.

Financial regulators to pursue derivatives diversification, review digital asset framework
South Korea\'s financial authorities and the Korea Exchange said they will strengthen investor protection while seeking to diversify derivatives products and improve trading conditions to revitalise the market, marking the derivatives market\'s 30th anniversary. A Financial Services Commission official said balance is needed as tighter protection has reduced excessive speculation but may have hurt market vitality. The Korea Exchange outlined plans for weekly and zero-day options, new futures listings and steps toward a 24-hour trading system.
