KB Financial sponsors South Korea\'s first Humanoid Challenge
KB Financial Group has sponsored the 2026 Humanoid Challenge, a competition focused on proving humanoid robot technologies. KB Financial said it provided a total prize fund of 30 million won for the event, which was hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and co-organised by two robotics institutions. Teams demonstrated precision work capabilities and autonomous control. Seoul National University’s ROBI team won the top prize.

KB Financial to be main sponsor of RoboCup 2026 Incheon
KB Financial Group will sponsor RoboCup 2026 Incheon, an AI and robotics international competition described as the world’s largest. It will run an on-site space where visitors can experience AI and robot technologies and will support programmes aimed at growing the robot industry ecosystem. The event opens on July 2 at Songdo Convensia in Incheon and runs through July 6, with teams from 45 countries and about 3,000 participants.

Daegu-North Gyeongsang to build information security cluster, 10 billion won in state funds by 2030
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Internet & Security Agency said on June 19 they selected a Daegu-North Gyeongsang consortium for a 2026 regional information security cluster project. The initiative aims to narrow regional gaps in information security companies and talent and strengthen local industry ecosystems. The cluster will receive 2 billion won this year and 10 billion won in total state funds through 2030, with local governments matching to reach 20 billion won.
