2026 Korea Game Awards to be held on Nov. 18 with 13 categories
The 2026 Korea Game Awards, an annual event that reviews South Korea\'s game industry, will be held in Busan on Nov. 18. The Korea Game Industry Association said on Sept. 28 it will accept nominations for the awards until Oct. 12. The event is hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and organised by the association. It will present prizes in 13 categories with total prize money of 30 million won.

G-Star expands content to AI, webtoons and mobility, reduces reliance on game studios
G-Star, South Korea\'s largest game exhibition, plans to broaden its scope to AI, webtoons and mobility while expanding organiser-led in-house content to reduce dependence on participating game studios. The organisers named expansion of industry and audience reach and increased in-house content as key strategies for G-Star 2026, to be held in Busan in November. AI story platform Crack will be main sponsor, and Hyundai Motor will run a special programme.

Pearl Abyss shares 16-year development journey, highlights in-house engine and Crimson Desert challenge
Pearl Abyss released a documentary on its official YouTube channel, Pearl Crute, detailing the company’s 16-year development philosophy and history. The video highlights the studio’s founding in 2010 by seven developers and the role of Chairman Dae-il Kim in establishing the company. It covers parallel development of Black Desert and an in-house engine, collaboration practices aimed at improving efficiency and quality, and the shift to the open-world action adventure Crimson Desert, including adoption of the new BlackSpace Engine.
