Bamisin to overhaul rules to respond to online hate speech

Broadcast Media Telecommunications Commission to hold forum on revised enforcement decree for information network act
South Korea\'s Broadcast Media Telecommunications Commission will hold a forum on May 21 at the Korea Broadcasting Hall in Mok-dong, Seoul, to discuss a proposed partial revision to the enforcement decree of the Information and Communications Network Act aimed at systematically responding to false and manipulated information. Broadcast Media Telecommunications Commission invites applications for groups to nominate public broadcaster directors
South Korea\'s Broadcast Media Telecommunications Commission said on May 15 it approved a plan to select groups that will nominate directors for public broadcasters and will hold an open call for applications from May 18 to May 26. The commission approved the plan at its 10th plenary meeting of 2026. It will select 15 groups in total, forming five nominating groups for each broadcaster.
