Koh Young Technology targets Japan medical market with brain surgery robot
Koh Young Technology is targeting Japan’s medical market with its brain-surgery robot. The company said on Tuesday it will present the medical robot, Geniant Cranial, at two neurosurgery conferences in Osaka. It plans to broaden contacts with local medical staff and strengthen sales. Koh Young Technology has received approval from Japan’s Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency (PMDA). It will attend the epilepsy surgery society meeting and the Japanese Society for Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery.

Koh Young Technology enters Japan\'s medical robot market
Koh Young Technology said on Tuesday its brain surgery robot, Geniant Cranial, has obtained marketing approval from Japan’s Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency (PMDA), enabling official sales in the country. The company said the robot previously received U.S. Food and Drug Administration 510(k) clearance and has now been approved in Japan as a high-risk Class III medical device. A company official said it will accelerate cooperation and early installations via its Japan unit.
