Kakao said on Oct. 20 it has revamped the \'Channel Home\' and \'News\' functions on KakaoTalk Channels. Partners can choose between the existing standard format and a new content-style channel home that displays news and short-form content in a grid feed with continuous browsing. Kakao also expanded profile options, added shortcut buttons and introduced card-style news posts with up to 40 photos or videos, while widening business channel conversion eligibility.

Kakao has applied generative AI to its KakaoTalk Channel AI 상담 service, Kanana Counseling Manager, to strengthen customer support functions. The company added a feature that generates answers to customer questions based on information registered by businesses and content posted on 톡채널, including store details, menus and recent updates. The update also automates answer management, adds an AI reply preview tool and supports connecting users to administrators during consultations.
