Kakao said on Jan. 5 it will hold the “KakaoTalk Short-form Challenge” through Jan. 25 and openly recruit official creators to be active on KakaoTalk short-form.
Kakao set up the challenge to support discovering creators and helping them grow. Anyone interested in producing content can apply, with no restrictions on genres or categories such as daily life, vlogs or challenge stories. Businesses that have a KakaoTalk Channel, or plan to use one for their activities, can also participate.
Creators selected through screening will carry out step-by-step missions over 100 days across 3 stages: “challenge, growth and completion.” They will receive training and mentoring in content production, planning and channel operations tailored to each stage. Participants who complete missions will receive basic rewards by section, and the program will run section-by-section awards each month based on activity results. After official activities end, it will also present outstanding participants through a closing awards program and special awards.
Kakao will also provide activity support such as exposure within KakaoTalk short-form. It also plans to offer top creators opportunities to experience Kakao business programs, supporting them to broaden monetisation experience.
Applicants can apply for the KakaoTalk short-form challenge by logging in with a Kakao account on the promotion page in the KakaoTalk PC or mobile app and clicking the “Apply as a creator” button.
A Kakao official said, “This challenge was prepared to broaden the foundation for creators to stay active consistently and to provide a growth pathway.” The official added, “We will strengthen support so more creators can continue their creative activities while showcasing diverse content.”
