SKT to tighten network quality control during summer holidays, AI to forecast traffic
SK Telecom will step up network quality management during the summer holiday season using AI-based network operations and monitoring technology. The company said it will run a special summer holiday communications situation room from July 20 to Aug. 31. It will conduct pre-checks and real-time monitoring in areas and multi-use facilities expected to see traffic surges, optimise capacity at about 1,100 sites nationwide and prepare for higher international roaming demand and weather-related disasters.

Government confirms Gwangju military airfield for Honam semiconductor industrial complex, steps up Yongin expansion drive
The government confirmed the Gwangju military airfield as the site for a Honam-region semiconductor industrial complex, putting its “three mega projects for the AI era” on track. Cheong Wa Dae said it completed the site decision and will use additional tax revenue from a semiconductor boom as project funding. It also plans a new dedicated body led by the president. The government will speed up an expansion of the Yongin semiconductor cluster by shortening land compensation and power and water supply schedules.

Naver, Kakao launch \'AI citizen secretary\' with Interior Ministry
Naver and Kakao launched an AI-based public service agent, \'AI citizen secretary\', in cooperation with the Ministry of the Interior and Safety. The companies attended an opening ceremony for the pilot service on March 9 in Pangyo Techno Valley ahead of the public launch on March 10. Users can handle electronic certificate issuance and reservations for public facilities without installing separate apps. Both services offer issuance for about 100 certificate types and searches and bookings for about 1,200 public sports facilities and meeting rooms nationwide.
