Korea\'s BMCC reauthorises 12 home shopping operators for seven years

Twelve home shopping operators, including Lotte Home Shopping and Home & Shopping, received reauthorisation with a validity period of seven years, the Broadcasting Media Communications Commission said on Tuesday. All 12 firms scored at least 650 points out of 1,000 and met minimum requirements in fail categories. The commission revised conditions, including contract disclosure for supplier fees and a ban on unfair pass-through of transmission fee hikes, and set additional requirements for specific operators.

KT to run September \'K.Mem.Fe\' for Chuseok, expand culture and performance benefits

KT will run its Chuseok customer appreciation promotion, \'K.Mem.Fe (KT Membership Festa)\', for all KT Membership customers throughout September. Under the monthly \'Dal.Dal.Benefit\' programme, users can choose one of four offers, including shopping and food delivery discounts. KT is also offering up to 50 percent discounts on selected musicals, performances and exhibitions and holding a K-pop invitation event. It will expand optional benefits for VVIP and VIP customers and launch a travel and lifestyle brand in its Shopping Lounge.

Government, home shopping firms and SMEs pledge shared growth, push 10 tasks

The government, home shopping industry and small and medium-sized enterprises will strengthen cooperation to develop the home shopping sector and promote shared growth. The Broadcasting Media Communications Commission held a joint declaration event in Seoul on July 20 with 12 home shopping companies and partner SMEs. The participants agreed on regulatory reform and policy support, fair trading practices, user rights protection and stronger product and service competitiveness, and set out 10 joint action tasks.
