SK Broadband said on Tuesday that its home-shopping short-form commerce service B tv Hot Deals, launched in November last year, reached about 80,000 cumulative sales and about 2 billion won in cumulative sales value four months after launch. It said revenue has grown more than threefold from the service's early stage.
B tv Hot Deals introduces special-discount home-shopping products on B tv channel 41 through 1-minute short-form videos, and links purchases to the relevant home-shopping company's mobile website. The service was able to launch after receiving temporary regulatory sandbox approval from the government. The channel averages 800,000 users a day.
Five TV home-shopping companies, including Lotte Home Shopping, Hyundai Home Shopping, NS Home Shopping, Home&Shopping and Public Home Shopping, and four data home-shopping companies, including SK Stoa, KT Alpha Shopping, Shopping N.T and W Shopping, are participating. So far it has sold around 180 products, including daily necessities, fashion, home appliances and gold.
SK Broadband explained that it is operating the service without charging brokerage fees to support mutual growth with the home-shopping industry, which is facing difficulties.
Shin Seung-sik (신승식), head of commerce advertising at SK Broadband, said, "We will continue to strengthen the service's competitiveness, including by recommending customized products through AI-based customer analysis and enhanced targeting."
