KB Kookmin Bank launches conversational AI \'KB AI\' for search, inquiries and transfers
KB Kookmin Bank has introduced a generative AI-based conversational financial service called KB AI in its KB Star Banking app. The bank said the service understands everyday language to search for information and carry out transactions such as inquiries and transfers. It includes natural-language integrated search across app menus, financial products and FAQs. The bank also expanded multilingual support for foreign customers from 11 languages to 16.

South Korea\'s fintech sector is expanding payment infrastructure while strengthening security and user protection. The Financial Supervisory Service and the Korea Fintech Industry Association launched a consultative body with major payment gateway firms to curb suspicious transactions. The Bank of Korea raised its policy rate to 2.75 percent, the first hike in 3.5 years, prompting tighter household lending management. Authorities also plan higher deposits and trading units for single-stock leveraged ETFs.

KB Financial launches \'KB AI Lab\' to train job-ready AI talent
KB Financial Group plans to expand the use of AI agents in key tasks such as data analysis and software development and to train AI talent based on workplace assignments. The group said it launched a hands-on training programme, KB AI Lab, after holding its first-half 2026 Group AI and Data Innovation Seminar in Seoul. It introduced a personalised data analysis agent, KB DAVIS, and an AI-based integrated development environment called the AI Dev Center.
