Sam Altman says he was sad to disappoint Disney after OpenAI shuts Sora
OpenAI’s decision to shut its video-generation AI platform Sora halted Disney’s plans to use its characters on the service. Sam Altman said he informed newly appointed Disney CEO Josh D’Amaro first and found it painful to tell him. Altman said OpenAI needed to focus computing resources and product capacity on developing next-generation automation researchers and running the company. Disney paused a planned $1 billion investment.
