Acer CEO says RAM shortage unlikely to last until 2030
Acer CEO Jason Chen dismissed suggestions that a memory supply crunch could drag on for years, saying shortages of DDR4 and DDR5 are not severe and are unlikely to last until 2030. He said supply is sizable and processors are also not in major short supply. Chen said component prices are fluctuating at high levels and expects PC prices to keep rising in the fourth quarter of 2026 by 5 to 20 percent. He sees declines after mid-2027.
