Running 8 Claude agents to replace 1 worker highlights AI cost hurdle
The operating cost of AI agents could exceed the average annual salary of U.S. workers, an analysis said, raising adoption barriers for companies. Tech investor Jason Calacanis said he spends about $300 a day to run Anthropic’s Claude agent, which handles only 10 to 20 percent of his workload. Others said costs including tokens and maintenance could reach more than $1,200 a day to replace one worker.
