NASA launches tender for private space stations to succeed ISS, secure low Earth orbit hub after 2030

NASA has begun formal bidding for a private space station to replace the International Space Station and maintain a low Earth orbit human presence after 2030. The agency released a request for proposals and set a Dec. 8 deadline, with plans to select at least two companies and announce results in April. NASA also said it could support transportation for the first four crewed service missions.
