Solana improves performance and security metrics but decentralisation still lags
Solana has improved network stability without a reported mainnet outage for two years, but concentration in staking, hosting and client software remains a concern, a Fidelity Applied Technology Center report said. Fidelity said Solana made meaningful gains in resilience, economic security and performance, supported by incentives for staking participation and validator performance. It also cited low latency, higher throughput and low transaction costs. But it warned decentralisation and resilience remain separate issues.

Bunker mode debate grows over AI-driven crypto threats
A debate is spreading in the cryptocurrency industry over so-called “bunker mode,” a strategy of moving assets to new addresses to protect them as concerns grow that artificial intelligence could undermine existing cryptography. There is still no evidence that AI has broken cryptographic systems, and some warn that hasty transfers could increase security risks through mistakes or scams. Experts also say the impact would extend beyond wallets to blockchain infrastructure and consensus mechanisms.

Solana to triple transaction capacity on Sept 9, narrowing gap with Ethereum
Solana will launch a new transaction format, TransactionV1, to expand per-transaction capacity from 1,232 bytes to 4,096 bytes, more than tripling the limit, CoinPost reported. The change enables processing of large cryptographic proofs and multi-signature transfers in a single transaction, while legacy formats continue to work. Software that reads blocks and transactions must support the new format. Solana is also preparing the AlpenGlow upgrade to cut finality to about 150 milliseconds and plans further rent fee and slot-time changes.
