IPTV content fee payment rate stuck in high 20s, below other industries
IPTV operators’ payment rate for broadcast content programme fees has become fixed in the high 20 percent range and remains significantly lower than other content industries, an analysis showed. Lee Sung-min (이성민), a professor at Korea National Open University, presented the findings at a Korea Broadcast Association seminar on Tuesday. He said IPTV’s rate was 28.7 percent in 2024, compared with 72.6 percent for cable operators’ basic channels.

ITCEN Global, Hoseo University team up to boost venture startup investment
ITCEN Global said on Monday it signed an MOU with Hoseo University’s industry-academic cooperation body to activate venture startup investment and strengthen mutual cooperation. The two sides will jointly handle the full acceleration process, from discovering startups to evaluation and selection. They plan support programmes such as open innovation, expert mentoring and follow-on investment. They also agreed to work on forming and operating a joint investment fund.

LabradorLabs hires Cho Hak-su as vice president to expand global market
Software supply chain security company LabradorLabs said on Wednesday it has hired Hoseo University professor Cho Hak-su (조학수) as vice president. Cho previously served as vice president and CTO at Wins, where he led a KOSDAQ listing and expansion into overseas markets. LabradorLabs said it plans to accelerate entry into North America and Japan based on Cho’s experience with global telecom carriers and large overseas clients, commercialising large-scale security platforms, and know-how in exports and local business expansion.
