Ethereum issuance-cut plan withdrawn from Hegota candidates, to be handled separately

Ethereum proposal EIP-8363, aimed at reducing issuance, has been dropped from consideration for the next network upgrade, Hegota. The move reflects the view that changes to issuance policy should be discussed through a separate governance process rather than bundled with a standard fork. Ethereum France representative Jerome de Tychey said he withdrew the proposal from Hegota review. The proposal has drawn extensive debate and mixed reactions from market participants.

Ethereum \'Glamsterdam\' to go live on Sepolia testnet on Oct. 6

Ethereum will apply its next major upgrade, dubbed Glamsterdam, to the Sepolia testnet on Oct. 6, Cointelegraph reported on Sept. 29 local time. The timing for deployment on the mainnet has not been decided. The Ethereum Foundation said node operators must update both execution- and consensus-layer clients before Sepolia activation. The upgrade includes in-protocol proposer-builder separation, block-level access lists and changes to the gas pricing system.

Ethereum \'Glamsterdam\' upgrade nears, key dates to watch

Ethereum\'s next upgrade, Glamsterdam, is entering its final stage, with related work including EIP-7928 nearing completion. Testing continues on a developer network, with the first public test, the Sepolia fork, scheduled for Oct. 6. A mainnet rollout has been indicated for the fourth quarter of 2026, though no exact date has been disclosed. The upgrade targets faster processing, higher capacity and limiting database bloat, and also includes ePBS changes to block validation.
