Shinhan Investment Corp tightens investor protection amid popular leverage trading
Shinhan Investment Corp said on Thursday it has strengthened its risk management system to prevent customer losses as leveraged investing expands, focusing on older and novice investors. It overhauled processes from service registration to trade execution and added warning text to HTS, MTS and web loan and margin trading screens. It also updated documents for older investors, will post educational videos for beginners and expanded specialised counselling at branches and a dedicated centre.

Daishin Securities to run overseas stock desk during Lunar New Year holiday; trading in 14 countries available
Daishin Securities said on Wednesday it will operate an overseas stock desk during the Lunar New Year holiday to help clients trade smoothly. Customers can receive stock consultations and place phone orders via the desk from Feb. 16 to 18. Trading is available in 14 countries. U.S., Japan and Hong Kong stocks can also be traded online through its Cybos and Creon platforms. Several European markets and others are phone-order only.

KB Financial to cancel 8.61 million treasury shares worth 1.2 trillion won
KB Financial Group said it cancelled 8.61 million treasury shares and will complete a change listing on the Korea Exchange by the end of this month. The shares, bought after a cancellation in May last year, were worth about 1.2 trillion won based on the previous day’s close and accounted for 2.3 percent of outstanding shares. It said the move is part of its shareholder return policy, alongside higher dividends and continued buybacks and cancellations.
