KRX after-market posts 1.8 trillion won turnover on first day, retail share 93 percent
The Korea Exchange\'s after-market recorded 1.8 trillion won in turnover and 72.24 million shares in volume on its first trading day, it said. Trading took place in 2,413 of 2,501 eligible stocks, or 96 percent, representing 99 percent by market capitalisation. Retail investors accounted for 93.0 percent of trading. KOSPI turnover was 1.3 trillion won and KOSDAQ 492.4 billion won.

Low PBR firms ranked near bottom for 3 years to be disclosed; first list in November
South Korea will for the first time in November disclose a list of listed companies whose price-to-book ratios have stayed near the bottom of their industries for three years. The Financial Services Commission and Korea Exchange set the threshold at the bottom 25 percent for KOSPI and the bottom 10 percent for KOSDAQ, based on semiannual calculations by industry. Firms can receive a one-year exemption if they disclose value-up plans including low-PBR improvements, with limits.

FSS special investigators refer 7 suspects in front-running scheme using stock highlight articles
South Korea\'s Financial Supervisory Service special judicial police said it uncovered two cases of illegal trading using stock highlight articles and referred seven suspects to prosecutors for alleged capital markets law violations. The suspects are accused of buying shares before articles were published and selling shortly after publication to make illicit gains. Two suspects, including a certified public accountant alleged to have led a stock manipulation ring and a working reporter, were arrested on June 9.
