Dell Technologies unveils next-generation supercomputer server targeting HPC and AI, expands Dell AI Factory
Dell Technologies on Monday unveiled the Dell PowerEdge XE8812, a new server adopting Nvidia Vera Rubin NVL4 architecture. The company said the system can support up to 144 GPUs per rack and will be added to the Nvidia-based Dell AI Factory lineup. Dell plans to accelerate expansion of Dell AI Factory across global fields including engineering and design workflows, genomics and efforts to advance sovereign AI initiatives. The server is due for global launch in early 2027.

South Korea opens HPC infrastructure in Indonesia, builds 4.2 PF supercomputer
South Korea has built high-performance computing (HPC) infrastructure in Indonesia that can be used to train large-scale artificial intelligence models and analyse massive datasets. The Ministry of Science and ICT and the foreign ministry said an opening ceremony was held for the facility built by KISTI and Indonesia’s National Research and Innovation Agency under a Korea-ASEAN digital cooperation project. The programme runs from 2024 to 2028 with $10 million in funding.

BoA report says shift from bitcoin mining to data centres proves effective
A Bank of America (BoA) analyst gave a positive assessment of bitcoin miner TeraWulf\'s strategy to shift into artificial intelligence data centres. Blockchain outlet U.Today reported that analyst Michael Funk initiated coverage with a buy rating and a $34 price target. The report said the key is repurposing mining facilities and power infrastructure for high-performance computing AI workloads, amid rising demand for AI data centres and expansion plans through 2030.
