Google paid subscriptions rise 25 million in Q1 as YouTube, Google One drive growth

Google’s paid subscription sign-ups totalled 350 million in the first quarter, up from 325 million in the fourth quarter, Alphabet said. YouTube and Google One drove the growth, while disclosures on the generative AI service Gemini remained limited. YouTube ad revenue rose 11 percent to $9.88 billion but missed expectations of $9.99 billion. Alphabet’s overall revenue reached $109.9 billion, and cloud revenue topped $20 billion for the first time.
