DeepSeek unveils open-source DSpark technology to boost AI inference speed by up to 85 percent

Chinese AI company DeepSeek has unveiled DSpark, an open-source technology designed to speed up large language model responses, VentureBeat reported. DSpark focuses on optimising the inference process without changing the model itself. In DeepSeek tests, perceived speed improved by 60 to 85 percent and total system throughput rose by as much as 661 percent. The technology can also be applied to other open-source models.

Hanwha Power enters U.S. fuel gas compressor market for first time

Hanwha Power has entered the U.S. combined-cycle power generation market, leveraging cooperation with Korea Southern Power. The company said it took part in an event marking the completion and start of commercial operations at the Trumbull Energy Center combined-cycle power plant in Trumbull County, Ohio. Hanwha Power supplied three fuel gas compressors and secured a nine-year long-term service agreement covering spare parts and three major overhauls.

KT unveils Korean culture-focused AI safety benchmark KSAFE-MM

KT unveiled KSAFE-MM, a multimodal AI safety benchmark developed with Korea University to assess model safety in Korean-language and Korean cultural settings. The dataset includes KSAFE-MM-G, which adapts global risks to Korean cultural context, and KSAFE-MM-C, which reflects local issues such as rental deposit fraud and the Dokdo dispute. The benchmark contains 14,135 samples and was used to test 12 models. KT also built an automated evaluation pipeline and published results on arXiv and Hugging Face.
