Shinhan Investment and Securities partners with Google Cloud to build in-house AI agent platform

Google Cloud said on Aug. 18 that Shinhan Investment and Securities has built an AI agent platform in partnership with Google Cloud that complies with financial security regulations and connects with key internal work data and systems. The securities firm set up a dedicated AX unit in 2026 and promoted field-led agent development through AX coordinators, creating more than 500 agents. It is running a closed beta and aims to lift agent-based automation to over 70 percent.

DeepSeek Harness spreads in developer community as plug-in-based design draws attention

DeepSeek\'s open-source AI agent runtime, DeepSeek Harness, is spreading quickly in developer communities after receiving positive reviews. Built on Node.js and released under the MIT licence as a developer preview on GitHub, it gained more than 33,000 stars within hours of launch, a report said. It features an “everything is a plug-in” design and offers four execution modes, while supporting multiple AI platforms.

Google to take on South Korea AI market with Gemini Enterprise

Google is targeting South Korea\'s AI market by promoting the full-stack structure of Gemini Enterprise and its compatibility with other companies\' models. Ruth Sun (루스 선), CEO of Google Cloud Korea, said Google’s ownership of all layers from chips to models and support for more than 200 models, including Anthropic’s Claude, delivers strong return on investment. She cited Samsung Electronics’ DX division as a user. Google also highlighted security offerings and growing AI use in marketing and sales.
