Google Cloud said on Aug. 18 that Shinhan Investment and Securities has built an AI agent platform in partnership with Google Cloud that complies with financial security regulations and connects with key internal work data and systems.
According to Google Cloud, Shinhan Investment and Securities set up a dedicated AX headquarters in 2026 to strengthen its capabilities in AI and digital assets and has pursued company-wide innovation. As part of that effort, it selected “AX coordinators” in each department and encouraged field-led agent development, creating more than 500 agents. To ensure these results go beyond temporary task automation or one-off use and can connect organically with key internal work data and financial systems, Shinhan Investment and Securities built an AI agent platform based on Google Cloud.
While using the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform, it designed and applied its own “hybrid orchestrator” structure tailored to the financial environment. Google Cloud said this allows agents to operate under set rules in tasks that require precise and consistent execution, such as fund transfers, while calling large language models such as Gemini only in areas that require reasoning, such as contract analysis, securing both system stability and flexibility.
Shinhan Investment and Securities is running the AI agent platform in a closed beta for some employees and is carrying out preparation procedures for an official launch. It plans to raise agent-based task automation to more than 70 percent, focusing on tasks that can be automated.
