Kim Jong-cheol joins G7 ministers meeting to discuss online protection for minors
South Korea\'s Broadcasting, Media and Communications Commission said its chairman, Kim Jong-cheol, attended a G7 digital and technology ministers meeting by video on Oct. 20 and discussed international cooperation to protect minors online. The meeting, proposed by France\'s minister for AI and digital affairs, included G7 members and five invited countries. France proposed a global science platform, research and database sharing.

France moves to tax some crypto-to-stablecoin exchanges, weighs 2027 start
France\'s lower house adopted a tax law amendment that would bring some transactions that exchange cryptocurrencies into stablecoins within the tax net. If it becomes law, capital gains could be taxed from 2027 when investors convert bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies into stablecoins even without converting them into fiat currency. Lawmakers also rejected a proposal to allow crypto realised losses to be carried forward for 10 years. Separate provisions remain pending.

Nvidia has unveiled plans to invest in four German startups as it moves to expand artificial intelligence investment in Europe, CNBC reported. The company said it would support Agile Robots, Avelios Medical, Mirelo AI and Reflex Aerospace, without disclosing the investment size. German Chancellor Friedrich Merz called on companies, including small and midsized firms, to open their data to AI. CEO Jensen Huang said AI would strengthen Germany’s industrial competitiveness.
