China\'s FAW first to fit semi-solid battery in EVs, range tops 1,000 km
Global automakers and battery makers are accelerating efforts to commercialise all-solid-state batteries as a next-generation technology beyond lithium-ion. China’s state-owned FAW said it was the first in the industry to install a lithium-rich, manganese-based semi-solid battery in an electric vehicle. The company said the 142 kWh battery exceeds 500 Wh/kg in cell energy density and supports more than 1,000 km of range under China’s CLTC standard.
