OpenAI launches ChatGPT Work, says it evolves into work partner
OpenAI said on Thursday it will launch ChatGPT Work, built on GPT-5.6 and Codex technology, to handle complex tasks. The service gathers information across apps and files to produce documents, spreadsheets, presentations and web apps, and can run scheduled tasks. OpenAI will also roll out a beta Sites feature, add a built-in browser and computer-use tools to its desktop app, and revamp its Chrome extension while phasing out Atlas.

OpenAI has released its new flagship AI model, GPT-5.6 Sol, to the public and revamped its naming system to Sol, Terra and Luna based on performance tiers. Sol is priced at $5 per 1 million input tokens and $30 per 1 million output tokens, while Luna costs $1 and $6. OpenAI also disclosed benchmark scores and highlighted cybersecurity results, alongside mostly positive early user feedback.

OpenAI makes limited release of three GPT-5.6 models; top model focused on cybersecurity
OpenAI has made a limited release of three new GPT-5.6 models, Sol, Terra and Luna, SecurityWeek reported. The top model, Sol, is specialised for cybersecurity. The rollout is being offered first only to trusted partners after consultation with the U.S. government, as a temporary step while a framework is developed to assess national security risks from advanced AI systems. Broader availability is expected within weeks.
