EU moves to remove Huawei, ZTE and other Chinese gear from networks; replacement costs could hit 40 billion euros

South Korea\'s Personal Information Protection Commission said on Thursday the European Commission has decided to keep its GDPR adequacy decision for South Korea. The decision follows the first review since the EU granted South Korea adequacy status in December 2021, the commission said. It said the European Commission assessed South Korea\'s privacy laws, oversight system and public-sector access to personal data, and concluded protections remain at a high level.

EU conditionally approves Paramount takeover of Warner Bros Discovery; U.S. lawsuit remains final hurdle

The European Union has conditionally approved Paramount’s takeover of Warner Bros Discovery, requiring Paramount to unwind its joint distribution arrangement with Universal in Europe. Paramount must exit the venture within 13 months and refrain from joint distribution with Universal for 10 years. A U.S. lawsuit and a UK review remain.
