Base nears launch of fully collateralised 1-to-1 tokenised stocks

Coinbase’s Ethereum layer-2 network Base is close to launching 1-to-1 collateral-backed tokenised stocks, Jesse Pollak said on X. Pollak said Robinhood Chain, an Ethereum layer-2 launched recently, properly implemented tokenised stocks in an Ethereum Virtual Machine environment, and he acknowledged Base had fallen behind in the area. Pollak told Garrett Scroggin he was finalising details and would launch very soon. Base is shifting from a social-focused strategy to financial applications.

Robinhood Chain bridged ETH tops $70 million in first week

The amount of Ethereum bridged to Robinhood’s layer 2 blockchain, Robinhood Chain, topped $70 million in its first week after the network launched on July 1, Token Terminal data showed. The network, built on Arbitrum, is Ethereum Virtual Machine-compatible and uses ETH as its native gas token. Daily active users were tallied at 194,000 and daily revenue at $39,000, it said.

Ethereum unveils quantum-computing plan costing $0.07 per account

A plan has been presented for Ethereum to prepare post-quantum security at the account level without a network-wide upgrade. Nico (니코), head of the Ethereum Foundation privacy project Kohaku, said the structure could be implemented at a cost of about $0.07 per account. The proposal seeks to verify quantum-resistant signatures on Ethereum’s execution layer without a hard fork or added precompiles, and includes formal verification steps. Further security audits are planned.
