EtherFi Cash moves from Scroll to Optimism, shifting 70,000 cards and 300,000 accounts
EtherFi will migrate its DeFi-native credit card service, EtherFi Cash, to the Optimism mainnet, The Block reported on Feb. 18. EtherFi said the move will shift about 70,000 active cards and roughly 300,000 accounts to Optimism in the coming months, along with user deposits worth several million dollars. EtherFi Cash is a non-custodial service that lets users spend stablecoin balances or borrow against staking and restaking assets.

BC Card signed an MOU with Coinbase to introduce USDC payments domestically through a pilot linking its QR solution to a Base-chain wallet. Visa introduced USDC payments for U.S. financial institutions and plans to expand in 2026, as its crypto card payment volume surged in 2025. Korean financial groups and banks also outlined 2026 priorities centered on AI and digital transformation.

Visa crypto card usage jumps 525 percent as crypto payments accelerate
Usage of crypto cards issued by Visa jumped 525 percent over 2025, Cointelegraph reported on Jan. 5, citing Dune Analytics data. Total payment volume rose from $1.46 billion in January to $9.13 billion by the end of December. The cards were issued in cooperation with blockchain projects including GnosisPay, Cypher, EtherFi, Avici Money, Exa App and Moonwell. EtherFi led with $5.54 billion, followed by Cypher at $2.05 billion.
