Qualcomm selects 15 AI startups in Asia-Pacific, including five from South Korea
Qualcomm has selected 15 AI startups from South Korea, Japan and Singapore through its Asia-Pacific startup development programme, Qualcomm Technologies said on Tuesday. The companies will join QAIPI 2026 and take part in a six-month mentorship course, including one-on-one mentoring with Qualcomm experts and access to hardware development platforms. Support includes up to $2,500 for product development and up to $5,000 for patent applications, with up to $10,000 for firms that complete the programme.

Codegate Security Forum, Kibo to co-host Codegate AI startup hackathon from July 21
Codegate Security Forum and Korea Technology Finance Corp (Kibo) will co-host the “Codegate AI Startup Hackathon” from July 21 to 23. About 20 teams selected through a screening process will be announced on July 15. The hackathon will run July 21 to 22 at SpaceShare Samseong Station Center, followed by a demo day and judging on July 23 at the COEX Grand Ballroom.

SKT wraps up in-house \'AX Challenge\' hackathon; non-developers make up 50 percent
SK Telecom said on Thursday it has wrapped up its in-house AI hackathon, the \'AX Challenge\', held from May 19 to 21 under the theme \'AI that changes daily life\' to accelerate group-wide AI transformation. The company said 54 teams and 115 people submitted proposals, with non-developer participants accounting for 50 percent. Four teams were selected as top entries in the final round on May 21.
