Ddareungi also hit by personal data leak; watchdog launches probe
South Korea’s Personal Information Protection Commission said it immediately launched an investigation after receiving a report of a personal data leak related to Ddareungi, a public bicycle service operated by Seoul Facilities Corporation. The commission said it received the report at about 9:46 a.m. on Jan. 30. The watchdog and investigative authorities said about 4.5 million cases have been identified so far, and the figure could rise depending on findings.
